"The mechanism for this rare pattern American Art Deco front door peep-hole was designed by the famed US Government Photographer, George W. Ackerman (1884-1962) and patented in 1930. The peephole frame on both sides of the door is in solid brass and is designed to be fitted to a door of any thickness. Reflective side of a one way mirror in the center and a brass framed nameplate to the bottom. The interior face has a circular brass "porthole" with the transparent side of the one way mirror and a sliding and latched hatch/cover."
